Virginia park ranger Roy Sullivan was said to have survived seven lightning strikes between 1942 and 1977.
First, lightning kept hitting a lookout tower where he sheltered. "Fire was jumping all over the place," he said. He then ran out and was struck a few feet away.
In 1969, lightning hit nearby trees and bounced through his open truck window, knocking him out. His truck kept moving until it stopped near a cliff edge.
